Manufacturer Guarantee Policy

Important notice regarding your consumer rights:

• The benefits BLACK+DECKER give under this Manufacturer Guarantee are in addition to any rights and remedies that you may have under local consumer protection laws or under another contract. Nothing in this Manufacturer Guarantee limits or affects your statutory legal rights.
• The limited Manufacturer Guarantee provided by us in this Policy is not intended to:
  • change or exclude any rights under consumer law that cannot be lawfully changed or excluded; or
  • limit or exclude any right you have against the person who sold the products to you if that person has breached their sales contract with you.
• As a consumer, you legally benefit from a minimum two-year Statutory Guarantee of Conformity from the seller as set out in local legislation governing the sale of consumer goods.

This Manufacturer Guarantee has the following sections:

• Section 1: General Terms and Conditions for all BLACK+DECKER power tools, batteries and chargers
• Section 2: Additional Terms and Conditions for BLACK+DECKER extended 5-year Manufacturer Guarantee for BLACK+DECKER Power Tools only (listed in the section)
• Section 3: Terms for Licensed products
   

SECTION 1: GENERAL MANUFACTURER GUARANTEE TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR ALL BLACK+DECKER POWER TOOLS, BATTERIES AND CHARGERS

All Terms and Conditions set out in this Section 1 also apply to BLACK+DECKER products purchased under the extended 5 Year Manufacturer Guarantee as described below in Section 2.

BLACK+DECKER is confident in the quality of its products and offers a Manufacturer Guarantee for users of the product. This Manufacturer Guarantee statement is in addition to, and in no way prejudices your statutory rights. The Manufacturer Guarantee is valid within United Kingdom, Member States of the European Union (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden) and the European Free Trade Area (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway). 

1. General terms and conditions

1.1 If your BLACK+DECKER product becomes defective due to faulty materials or manufacturing defects, within 24 months from the date of purchase, BLACK+DECKER guarantees to replace all defective parts and/or repair products, without charge to you to make sure of the minimum inconvenience to the customer. This Manufacturer Guarantee applies to all BLACK+DECKER products, unless:

• The defects have arisen as a result of fair wear and tear
• The product has not been used in accordance with any instructions provide
• The product has been used for trade, professional or hire purposes
• The product has been subject to misuse, neglect, excessive force, load or mechanical impact
• The product has sustained damage through foreign objects, substances, or accidents
• The product has been purchased as used or second hand
• Repairs to the product have been attempted by unauthorised persons

1.2 Subject to local law, this Manufacturer Guarantee is not transferable. Unless such limitation contravenes local law, this guarantee is only available to the original BLACK+DECKER product user who purchased the product.

1.3 A product repair or replacement under this Manufacturer Guarantee does not extend or renew the guarantee period. The 2 year period starts from the original purchase date and ends 24 months later.

2. Making a Guarantee Claim

2.1 To make a claim, contact your seller or check the location of your nearest BLACK+DECKER authorised repair agent at www.2helpU.com, during the guarantee period.

2.2. The BLACK+DECKER product must be returned to the seller or an authorised BLACK+DECKER repair agent with all parts complete and with the original proof of purchase. Your product must display the CE mark, as shown below:
